Chariots of Fire



The Community Foundation for Shropshire and Telford with  the Wenlock Olympian Society have received a wonderful offer to be part of the  NATIONAL Launch of the newly digitised and Blu ray version of "Chariots of  Fire ".


Our Charity Gala will be on Tuesday, July 10th 2012 at the  Odeon Cinema, Telford Town Centre at 5.30pm and will be linked to the Premiere  of the new version of the film in six major cities: London, Edinburgh,  Belfast, Gateshead, Manchester and Birmingham.


Fox Entertainment’s Premiere is a  major event and will include live video links between the six city cinemas –  and also the Telford Odeon Cinema.  Presentations and greetings will be  given by their VIP guests including Lord Puttman and Eric Liddell’s daughter in  Edinburgh; other cast and crew from Chariots of Fire in London, and from  Telford the daughter of Harold Abraham, Sue Pottle, and his biographer, Mark  Ryan, will add to this wonderful evening with a short presentation – which will  be part of the live video link to the other Premieres. What a coup for  Shropshire!!!!    


The evening will be a Black Tie / Posh Frock event and commence with a Wine and Canapés Reception at 5.30pm,  music by the Abraham Darby Show Band Brass Section and a Book signing by Mark  Ryan.  There will also be A Grand  Raffle.

ahead of us we are sure you will want to join us on Tuesday July 10th 2012 at  5.30 at the Odeon Cinema in Telford.    


Tickets for the evening are priced at £25 for standard seats.


Proceeds from this event will be used to benefit sports projects across Shropshire - the birthplace of the modern Olympics.

The Midcounties Co-operative Community Fund. Up to £2,000 grants for community groups who have been members of Midcounties Co-operative for at least 3 months. The programme is now open for applications.  The closing date is 8th February 2013.
