Grants for Shropshire and Telford Communities
The Community Foundation distributes grants from a range of funding programmes, these include funds from other agencies and statutory bodies as well as the Foundation's own funds.
Sparkler Fund
The Sparkler fund, from E.On UK, Ironbridge Power Station, is for newly formed groups to help with start up administration and promotion costs. To apply simply download and complete the application form
Telford & Wrekin Mayoral Charity Fund
Age Concern - A Chance to Dance ProjectThe Community Foundation manages this annual fund on behalf of the Mayor of Telford & Wrekin. The money for this grant programme is raised by the current Mayor during his/her year of office and is used to support voluntary groups in the Telford & Wrekin area. The fund has its own general guidelines and criteria and in addition the Mayor chooses a theme for his/her fundraising.
The Mayor of Telford and Wrekin Cllr Ian Fletcher took office in May 2010.
His Charity Fund will open for application in March 2011.
Community Foundation grants are awarded from a range of funding programmes that have similar criteria and a common application form.
These also include community grants from Comic Relief and Sport Relief.
European Social Fund grants are aimed at groups working with people who are a long way from the labour market to help them take a step towards employment.
Fair Share Trust grants are for the Donnington and Donnington Wood areas of Telford, they are funded by money from the Big Lottery Fund for areas that were seen not to have had their 'fair share' of lottery money.
